It
is easy to see
the visible
results that I have made with Carrie as my
personal trainer in the “before” and
“after” pictures printed above.
It is also easy to quantify
“the numbers” when I state I
have lost in excess of 135 pounds… or
by examining the healthy state of my lipid
profile as evidenced in my most recent lab
workups (provided above).
The “numbers” are even easy to
comprehend when comparing my
“uncontrolled” blood pressure readings of
162/102 in 2002 to my most recent reading of
116/72…or the pharmacy bills that
accompanied the plethora of medications I used
to take back then compared to having
to pay NO pharmacy bills now.
In earnest examination of just the
“visuals” and the “numbers”, it is
easy to comprehend how I have benefited from the
value in Carrie’s expert personal
training skills. My
“testimonial” could end here and I think I
would have provided sufficient, tangible
evidence that the fees I paid Carrie were
indeed a bountiful investment from which I
continue to reap endless rewards.
But
I cannot let it end here. Without question, Carrie provided the proper nutritional
guidance and certainly hit the mark with the
individually structured, specific cardio and
weight exercises regiments. Her motivation,
her inspiration, her attention to my
“form” and even her detailed
record-keeping in each and every session went that
extra mile. However,
what Carrie offered as a personal trainer in
addition to the diet and exercise went even
deeper and further...beyond the value that I
or anyone could expect. Through an in-depth one on one assessment and through
continuous questioning and concentrated
listening on her part, Carrie genuinely understood the journey I was on in my transformation as
“that skinnier guy that was somewhere inside
me” and the struggles that I encountered in
my journey. She
cared...and she knew that this journey was NOT
just about weight loss or being fit or even
finding that “skinnier guy”...although I
didn’t really understand it at the time I
signed her on as my trainer. What I eventually
came to realize...and what she had already
figured out … was, in my case, my journey
involved my “spirit”.
And, WE dealt with it at every workout
session, in one manner or another.
“Before
you can win, you have to believe you are
worthy”… that was the quote Mike Ditka
would tell his players and THAT quote explains
where my head was at...or better still
..WASN’T at…
when Carrie “took over”. Simply put, I did
not feel like a winner.
Even though I was “successful” in
my professional and personal life, I had let
each of those 351 pounds I gained slowly chip
away at my “self-worth”. At that weight,
that is a lot of “chipping away”, to say
the least. In
short order however,
through Carrie’s effective
strategies, changes
began…. my body fat decreased, my weight
came off, my muscles grew, my flexibility
increased, my energy rocketed…all the usual
things you would expect to happen
from being trained by a top
notch trainer did
indeed happen. But
only through the added benefits of Carrie’s
keen perception and sensitivity,
along with her gentle intensity, did I regain my lost feelings of worthiness…and
I began to win, to achieve , to find further purposes in life and to find
new hope for further change.
To
say that Carrie is the “complete package”
as a personal trainer , is not only an
understatement,
but does not adequately validate the real value she offers each and every client and the hopes they hold
to change their lives…forever.

you have been helping me, I am able to wear

I
was looking for a way to boost up my exercise
program when I found Carrie, at Fitness Training
For Life. I live in a rural area, and have 2
small children, plus a job with odd hours. This
made it almost impossible to get to a gym at a
scheduled time, or hire a personal trainer. I
was looking for a strength training routine, but
was having a lot of difficulty designing one
myself, and finding the motivation to do it.
Carrie worked with me to design a program that
fit me needs and worked with my crazy hours and
the equipment I had available. I find it very
convenient to click a button, and get my workout
program, which I tend to do late in the evening
after getting the kids to bed. She also gave me
nutritional advice to help with my weight loss
goals. As my needs changed, Carrie was quick to
change my program. I decided to try my hand at a
triathlon. Carrie designed my strength training
program to suit. Carrie also went the extra mile
and came to my first triathlon for support. It
was an awesome experience, and I was glad to
have her there to share it with! I have found
